"Joe.P - Getbig Pro
Since the show, I have been made aware by many people, of the comments and accusation made by Milos. I would like to take the opportunity to set the recorded straight on what occurred on the 21 day of May 2005 at the New York Pro.
Promoters set Rules and instructions for all Personnel to follow. It is very simple! NO TICKET NO ENTRY. The only exceptions are as followed:
As a professional courtesy to the promoters and the sport, Athletes/ Press Media/Vendors may call in advance to request a ticket. NO COURTESY can be extended at the door.
Responding to Milos Accusation on my part;
Flex, Dexter, and Milos came to the door in that order. Flex Wheeler was on M/D press access list. Dexter was with his sponsor and also had clearance.
“Yes” Milos you are correct I did say Dexter is allowed in because he is competing, this was my mistake, Just as I stated that night “you are right he is not competing HOWEVER he had clearance!” You did not want to listen. I extensively explained to you that Dexter has clearance because he is with his sponsor at the booth. You on the other hand tried to enter by saying you were helping out Flex Wheeler with press, then you changed it by stating you were helping out Peter McGough.
I replied by saying, just do me a favor and contact Steve Weinberger, and I will be happy to help you in any way I can, Sorry But I do not make the rules, I just enforce them and they apply to all, it does not matter who you are. Any one who knows me can testify that I enforce the rules to all. Instead of accepting the facts you continued to carry on. You believed yourself to be above the rules.
Out of courtesy, I took the time out and attention from the door to repeatedly explain the fact and the rules. Yes there were 31 competitors, Flex, Dexter and many other IFBB Pro’s were allowed in, HOWEVER they followed the rules and placed a courtesy call to Steve in ADVANCE.
You were very upset, you would not listen to any reasoning and this went on for a good amount of time. Many people became aware of your actions; as time went on I was told that if you did not stop making a scene I was to kick you out. Others have been escorted out the door for even less bad behavior. You were acting completely unprofessional and speaking candidly it was embarrassing. Frankly I just wanted the situation to end, I felt bad to see a pro act this way.
I made a mistake and gave into your behavior by purchasing you a ticket (without Steve’s knowledge, when he became aware he reimbursed me.) I did not just let you in, I had hoped this would make you understand the rules. Unfortunately you continued your personal vengeance against Steve by including my name on the web site by insinuating that I agreed with your point of view. You used me as a tool to make your point to the officials as well as others, this was wrong!
To set the record straight…The only reason I purchased the ticket for you was… that I thought at the time it was worth the 40 dollars to end an embarrassing situation.
Since that night, numerous people have told me about your negative behavior in the past, and that you are now using me to prove yourself right. To be perfectly clear… I do not agree with your unprofessional behavior and I do not want to be apart of your personal agendas or anyone else’s. I do not appreciate it. In closing I would like to say, you need to understand the word “professional” and apply it. This sport does not need any negative influence.
I would also like to apologize to Steve Weinberger and Jim Manion if this has cause any inconvenience or any misunderstanding. Of course this was not my intention.
Thank You
Joe Palumbo - IFBB Pro"
